RESPONSE TO OWNER REPLY: Thank you for responding to my review. You're right, my booking wasn't particularly 'last minute', however you were the only cattery I could find with availability leading me to believe I should have tried booking them in earlier than I did.I did come and visit you before booking their stay, and everything seemed to be fine when I was shown around the cattery. The carrier was disgusting when we got into our car at the top of your driveway. However, we didn't feel the need to come back in and complain straight away as we thought it was just the carrier that smelled. Had we realised the state our cats were in at the time, I assure you I would have come straight back in to see you. You have not addressed the most important issue of the welfare of my cats and the state they were apparently kept in.Both cats had all four legs caked in urine up to elbow/knee joints. Their skin and pads were sore and they stank all over. They had obviously been sat and covered in urine for some time. Just for clarity, this did not happen on the drive home, I would have noticed if they had soiled themselves as they were sat in the carrier on my lap.We had to bath both cats as soon as we got home, something the cats, myself and my partner took no pleasure in at all. Something we should not have had to do. Incase you're interested, their sore pads are looking better, but they still have stained yellow feet fur.ORIGINAL REVIEW: After dropping our two kittens off for a week over christmas, I facebook messaged Tabley Brook to ask if they could possibly send me a quick pic of my cats in their 'holiday home' to put my mind at ease, since this was their first stay here. But my message was ignored.My partner and I, upon drop off and collection, did not actually see the cattery, or where our cats would actually be staying. They were quickly taken off our hands in their shared carrier, and just as quickly returned to us in their carrier when we returned a week later to pick them up.All seemed ok, as I had asked the owner if there had been any problems to which he said all had been fine.Once we got back into our car, it was apparent there was something wrong. The stench of urine was absolutely rancid. We decided to drive quickly back home where we could get the cats out of their carrier to see them.Their legs and paws were completely covered and caked in urine and looked sore. Not something that could have happened in just a couple of hours. They stink, seriously. My partner is running a bath as I type this. Their brand new carrier is also covered in urine. The soft insert padding for the inside of the carrier is wet with what I can only assume is urine, and covered in god knows what. Tabley Brook was the only cattery I could find to take my kittens over the holidays as I was a bit last minute booking, but now I do wonder if there was a reason they were the only ones with availability.If you plan on having your cats stay here, please make sure you ask to see where they are staying, agree to regular updates, see the conditions of where they have been staying, and check them over before paying and leaving. If they are unable to accommodate this, or even if they were 'busy' because it was 'Christmas', perhaps they shouldn't have been looking after peoples beloved pets.
