Dreadful house wine served on the opening night of the roof top garden bar.I exchanged the merlot for a more expensive malbec house red and that was equally disgusting. The poor taste was confirmed by my friend with me and I overheard a nearby table also questioning the drinks quality. I emailed Barristers to give my views. No answer. I then phoned. "Oh we will look into it and get back. They did not. Emailed again, no reply. Only go here if you want vastly overpriced (its quickly getting a reputation as a rip off joint) very sub standard wines.
Lovely place to have a meal. Went with my fiance The place is steeped in history and the manager gave us a tour and explained the features to us both, which was a nice touch. The service was great and the waiter knew the menu and recommended some great tasting sides. They are currently working on a garden terrace for a separate dining experience which sounds great. They are also working on private dining rooms converted from the old prisoner holding cells. Which sounds amazing!They also offer light meals and creams teas. You can have a wedding here and also hire a smaller room for smaller occasions which is Cody and would be perfect for meetings or a baby shower. Two courses for two. Which two alcoholic drinks cost exactly 65. Not too bad considerjng the surroundings and service. Will definitely return
Had a meal out here with family about a month ago. Nice friendly service, good atmosphere and interesting surrounding.Food was very nice, freshly cooked and served in good amount of time. A variety of choices to choose from, although lunch menu is fairly restricted (again most likely to things being freshly made). Should be something for everyone. Grilled fish of the day was very nice!Parking is a bit of a pain and building is inaccessible if you use a wheelchair
Wonderful experience on Mothering Sunday with my wife and children. Great food, service and surroundings. Well deserved 5*
